NEWSTORIES --  from around the country.

We recommend that parents do "due diligence" before placing their child at a Special Purpose (Behavior Modification) school. (1) Contact the state agency that monitors and regulates residential programs for students with special needs and ask if they have ever received complaints or concerns about the school you are considering. (2) Contact the local D.A. and city or county social services department and ask the same question, and (3) Contact local news media and request stories from the past five years on the school. The following are news stories from around the country.
